THE KING’S TOWER was a project assigned on the 1st term for VFS GD students, where students were required to create a new and original single-player level for Demon’s Souls.

  • Students were graded based on:

    • Level Walkthrough (e.g.: objectives and challenges are clearly explained)

    • Level Design Factors (e.g.: the map has interesting choices to make and offers rewards for taking risks)

    • Flow Chart (e.g.: each beat has a clear and concise explanation as to what occurs in it)

    • Beat Chart (e.g.: intensity and time correctly correspond and are plotted against each other in the chart)

    • Actionable Plan (e.g.: there are clearly written actionable items that would improve the level)

    • Placeholders (e.g.: there is proper placeholder geometry for every piece of environment that can influence the gameplay)

    • Geometry (e.g.: not a single instance of BSP brush is scaled)

    • Formatting (e.g.: every file perfectly follows the naming convention)
